About me

My name is Alejandro Rodríguez González and currently, I’m working as a Full professor (tenure) at E.T.S de Ingenieros Informáticos in Computer Languages and Systems and Software Engineering department at Universidad Politécnica de Madrid. I also belong to the Centro de Tecnología Biomédica, where I lead the Medical Data Analytics Laboratory (MEDAL).

I started my career in 2008 when I moved from my lovely Oviedo (Asturias) to Madrid with the idea of just «working one year in the university while I do the master's». The reality finally is that research really captivates me and I made research my «style of life», making me stay in Madrid until now. Several times I wondered if this was a bad decision.. why? Well, it is easy: making science nowadays is something hard, bad-paid and unstable. But.. there is no turning back!

About me: I love travel (as most people do 😃 , I love tattoos and I love partying with my real friends. I also have two female cats (Mia and Ayla) and I also really love to read (but sadly I don’t have too much time).
